Jessie Kampman claimed silver at the Trofeo Princesa Sofía in Palma de Mallorca after a dominant week of racing in the Formula Kite fleet. The reigning world champion set the pace from the opening days of the regatta, building a commanding lead at the top of the standings and consistently proving to be one of the fastest and most consistent riders on the water.
Kampman’s strong performance earned her a direct place in the Medal Series final. However, the format resets the scores for the final stage, meaning the advantage she had built throughout the qualification series did not carry over into the medal races.
In the decisive final, Kampman faced French rival Lauriane Nolot. Nolot took the opening race of the Medal Series, securing the overall victory and leaving Kampman with the silver medal.
Despite missing out on gold, Kampman’s performance in Palma underlined her status as one of the leading Formula Kite riders in the world. Her consistency throughout the week and ability to control the fleet from the outset provide another strong benchmark as she continues her campaign towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
For Kampman, the silver medal marks another podium finish at a major international event and a strong start to the season.
